The way to Replace the On/Off Switch to a Poulan Pole Saw

The Poulan pole saw, also referred to as a pole pruner, is an electrically powered cutting tool that uses a 10-foot pole and flexible extension boom to allow the user to access overhead projects that would be out of reach with a normal chain saw. Meant for small cutting jobs, the pruner can be removed from the pole and prosper, and used as a chain saw if necessary. When the on/off switch fails to work, you can replace it yourself.

Unplug the chain saw part of this pole trimmer and ensure that the power switch is in the “off” place.

Remove the screws that fasten the top cover of this machine into the body of this chain saw part of this pole pruner. Remove the cover of this chain saw by pulling it from place and lay it aside along with the screws.

Remove the electric wires from the back of the on/off switch with needle-nose pliers. Grasp the wires, one at a time, with the tip of the pliers and tug. They’ll remove easily.

Grasp the tabs that hold the on/off switch in position with a pair of pliers. Squeeze the pliers into depress the tabs and pop the on/off switch from the casing of this chain saw.

Snap the new on/off switch into position. Ensure that the switch is protected by listening to this telltale click you’ll hear when it is installed correctly. Reattach the electric wires into the back of the new switch at precisely the exact same configuration as they were when you eliminated them.

Reinstall the top cover on the machine and reinstall the screws that hold it into position. Ensure that the screws are tight to keep them from working their way loose due to the vibration of the chain saw part of this pole pruner.
