Preparation

42-inch Mower Deck Blade and PTO Belt Installation
Pull the drive belt idler pulley to your left to relieve the belt tension. The pulley is on the upperthe side of the mower deck, beside the blade spindle pulley.
Slide the drive belt back around the spindle pulleys and the center pulley. Pull the idler pulley to the left and slip the belt around the idler pulley. Seat the drive belt’s angled side into the right and left side spindle pulley grooves with the flat side against the idler pulley. Release the idler pulley to pressure the drive belt.
Pull the PTO idler pulley arm to the best to relieve the PTO drive belt tension. Guide the belt around the PTO clutch pulley engine and PTO drive belt idler pulleys. Pull the PTO drive belt toward the back of the deck, then sliding the angled side into the upper, middle double pulley groove. Release the idler pulley arm to pressure the PTO drive belt.
46-inch Mower Deck Blade and PTO Belt Installation
Pull the mower deck blade drive belt idler pulley arm to your left to relieve the belt tension. The pulley arm is on the left side of this deck, between the blade spindle and center pulley.
Route the drive belt back around the right and left double blade spindle pulley grooves and center pulley. Pull the deck blade push idler pulley to the left fit the belt around the idler pulley.
Seat the angled side of the belt into the right and left side lower dual blade spindle pulley grooves and the center pulley groove, with the flat side against the idler pulley. Release the idler pulley arm to properly tension the mower deck drive belt.
Pull the PTO pulley toward the ideal side of this deck to relieve PTO drive belt tension. Slide the drive belt around the PTO clutch pulley or engine pulley. Guide it about the right and left deck blade spindle pulleys, and around the center pulley.
Pull the PTO drive belt idler pulley to your best to relieve the PTO drive belt tension. Slip the PTO drive buckle on the PTO drive belt pulley. Seat the angled side of this PTO drive belt into the PTO and mower deck double blade spindle pulley grooves, positioning the flat side against the PTO idler pulley. Release the idler pulley to pressure the PTO drive belt.
