The way to Kill Fleas & Chiggers from the Yard

Fleas are blood-sucking insects that will feast on humans when creatures are not offered. Their bites itch and they can carry infection. Chiggers do not lead to disease, but their bites can become infected after prolonged periods of scraping. Should you encounter fleas and chiggers on your yard, you are going to want to kill them instantly or risk the infestation becoming bigger and harder to control.

Mow your yard so that the grass is short. Clean up any lawn debris, cover trash cans and remove any brush to create the environment less desirable for fleas and chiggers and prepare it for therapy.

Mix a pesticide with the active ingredient permethrin — recorded as being able to kill both fleas and chiggers — at a pump sprayer according to the package tag amounts.

Wear gloves, goggles and a mask and then attract pets and children indoors when you spray the lawn with a permethrin-based pesticide.

Start spraying the lawn with the pesticide at the furthest section of the yard and then work your way back to your property.

Wait the designated amount of time advised on the product label before allowing kids and pets to once again play outdoors. Normally, this is approximately 2 hours, the amount of time it requires the product to completely dry.

Reapply the pesticide two weeks later to kill any flea eggs that may have hatched.
