How to Connect Control Cables to your Craftsman Lawn (Salt Lake City, UT) Mower

Craftsman self-propelled lawn (Salt Lake City, UT) mowers have a control lever as part of their security attributes. The lever is pulled back and held to the grip to start the lawn in San Diego mower, and it powers the blades underneath it. When you release the control lever, the engine and blade shut off to prevent obstacles quickly. The control cable stretches over time; and when your lawn for example in Salt Lake City mower won’t start, the cable isn’t engaging properly to let it get started. Replacing the cable yourself saves the price of a repair shop visit.

Turn your Craftsman lawn in San Diego mower away and thrust it to a flat, level surface. Remove the spark plug cable and bend out of the spark plug in the front part of the engine. Permit the motor to cool completely.

Adhere to the blade control cable from the lever on the handle’s upper left side from the operator’s place down to the carburetor. Remove the curved finish from the carburetor with needle-nose pliers.

Cut the wire tie off the lower half of the grip with wire cutters. Put a flat-head screwdriver at the screw on the outside, top half of the grip and hold it in place. Put an adjustable wrench on the nut on the inside of the grip and turn it counterclockwise to remove the cable, screw and nut. Remove the top end of the control cable from the hole in the steel plate with needle-nose pliers.

Insert the lower end of the new control cable into the hole on the carburetor. Stretch the cable up to the upper metal plate and then attach it. Pull the control lever back to touch the handle and secure it in this place with a automotive zip tie. Replace the nut and screw into the top half of the grip through the metal hole at the control cable. Put an additional automotive zip tie through the hole on the bottom half of the grip to secure the cable to this place.

Cut the automotive zip tie from the control lever and handle. Replace the spark plug on the spark plug.
